Meet our Artists

Karen Siedenburg serves as artistic director for Ice Arts Northwest, where her passion for dance beautifully merges with the artistic expression of skating. She has an extensive background choreographing and performing in diverse artistic skating pieces, from solos and duets to large group numbers. Her work has been showcased at events like the American Contemporary Skating Festival in Boston, as well as numerous local exhibitions. Karen also coaches and choreographs at Sno-King Kirkland. A highly accomplished skater, she is the 2017 National Solo Dance Final Champion and holds six U.S. Figure Skating Gold Medals. Outside of her skating endeavors, Karen cherishes time spent with family and friends.

Mija Trimble (nee Bishop) started dancing at the age of six in Hiroshima, Japan. It was not long until she fell in love with ballet and went on to perform title roles in Cinderella, Firebird, Giselle, Paquita, and more. Teaching has been her passion for the last twelve years, and she has taught and directed shows in various dance schools throughout the Pacific Northwest, as well as Tokyo and Kanagawa, Japan. In May of 2021, she decided to create her own school/company, and opened Flight Feathers Ballet. While directing and teaching have now become her main focus, Mija still enjoys performing by collaborating with local musicians and artists, and has been featured in numerous shows and music videos. 

Ice Arts Northwest is honored to welcome Liam Keipkis, an artist whose canvas is the ice. Beginning his craft at the age of two, Liam has cultivated a powerful and expressive style, captivating audiences as a national and international competitor for Team USA. With grace and power, he has graced the ice at prestigious international events, including Skate America, Skate Canada, and the Four Continents Championships. Liam's consistent presence at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships since 2017—spanning levels from Juvenile to Senior—is a testament to his profound commitment, earning him coveted spots at both the World Junior Championships and the Youth Olympics. We are thrilled to have such a celebrated artist supporting our mission.

Mark Jahnke is a five-time U.S. National Competitor and three-time U.S. Intercollegiate Champion known for his expressive artistry and technical command. A Fulbright Scholar and graduate of Harvard and Princeton, he has performed alongside World and Olympic champions in An Evening With Champions, Ice Chips, Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer, Skate for Hope, and the opening of 2008 Skate America, among others. Now a national-level coach and choreographer, Mark continues to perform while shaping the next generation of skaters through thoughtful movement, technical mastery, and nuanced storytelling on the ice.

A globally recognized professional figure skater, Meegan McDonald is a USFSA Double Gold Medalist that has graced the ice for Disney on Ice, Rand Productions, Glacier Ice, and Japan's prestigious Fantasy on Ice (starring Evgeni Plushenko). Her extensive professional training underpins a successful career that also includes choreographing for national-level figure skaters, the opening ceremonies of Skate America (Spokane, WA), and serving as Lead Choreographer for Rand Productions' "Christmas on Ice" (2012/2013).

Keenan Prochnow is a professional figure skater and coach from the Chicago area. He began his skating journey at age six, competing in men's freestyle before transitioning to pairs at sixteen. A decorated athlete, Keenan was the 2019 Junior Pairs National Champion and a five-time national medalist. He proudly represented Team USA from 2017 to 2021, competing at numerous international events on the Junior Grand Prix circuit and achieving a 6th place overall finish at the 2019 ISU Junior World Championships. After retiring from competitive skating, Keenan performed with professional skating companies in shows across the USA and Europe. He is a two-time USFSA gold medalist and a USFSA certified coach, specializing in freestyle, power skating/skating skills, and pairs.

A principal performer with Ice Arts Northwest, Jessie Lu is also a senior solo ice dancer and coach. Her accomplishments include four U.S. Figure Skating Gold Medals. Jessie's artistic interests extend beyond the ice to include contemporary dance, ballet, and Latin ballroom. She is an incoming freshman at the University of Washington, where she plans to major in biochemistry. Off the ice, she finds relaxation in journaling, Sudoku, and music.
